Gillman Barracks

Last night was the opening for Gillman Barracks. It's a new place in town featuring both local and international galleries.

Small world, new friends, fresh works - that pretty much sums up an awesome Friday night :)

The Journey @ Maya Gallery Singapore

Rushed off to Maya Gallery for the opening of The Journey show after work.
"The Journey is a celebration of Maya Gallery’s inaugural artist residency in Bali, which saw many cultural exchanges with Balinese artists, and opportunities to explore old towns and pura or temples and learn traditional ink-making techniques."
A pretty good fusion of styles; personal favor are the Chinese Ink paintings by Jeffrey and a set of abstract paintings by Indonesian artist Suklu.

Managed to have some small chat with some of the artists and gallery manager Fari, really friendly and inspiring people :)

The Journey will be up from 13 Sept 2012 - 3 Oct 2012 @ Maya Gallery. Do drop by!
